What this site is
This is a reference publication about a narrow, practical subject: the production of clinical documents from dictated audio. It covers the workflow, the equipment, the quality controls, the regulatory obligations, the commercial units the work is measured in, and the profession that does it. It is written for people making operational decisions, not for patients and not for people shopping for a vendor.
The editorial approach is deliberately plain. Where a practice is genuinely standard across the industry, it is described as standard. Where something varies by provider — and a great deal does — the variation is described rather than smoothed over, because the variation is usually where the money and the risk are. Where a regulatory obligation applies, this site says so and points at the primary source rather than paraphrasing it as fact.
